I think it depends if it's free (GPL/MIT/etc) software or not. Then it's truly a gift, rather than a black box Though I have a hunch this won't be free software and will have all kinds of telemetry you can't di

I think the majority of people would prefer if encryption weren't a thing - as they believe it's primarily or exclusively used by criminals to evade law enforcement. If most people want X, and our elected officials are working on

Oh I see, I'm sorry to hear that. I hope things will improve for you soon. It's understandable you would be focused on more important things. Lately I have been wondering if more people would get into open source if they didn'

I've never met anyone who uses OSM. I have just shy of 500 edits on OSM because I kept going to use it, finding it didn't have what I was looking for, and making improvements. It would be nice if there was a viable alternative to

I get something like this with Music.app -- it seems to randomly open. I suspect it's some kind of keystroke (i.e. hitting the play button) but I haven't figured out exactly why it's happening or how to stop it. I'm pret

But why? Re-creating Flash makes sense to me because of the sheer amount of content, but the only thing I can think of that used Silverlight was Netflix ... years ago. Is Silverlight really a game changer such that it's worth bringing

Somewhat off-topic, tinyprojects.dev and netflix.soy both have DNSSEC, is this required for some of the newer TLDs (like how .dev has mandatory HTTPS preloading)? Just it's rare to see it in the wild.

Yeah, I bought something similar to that. The entire machine can run off the Linux kernel with zero proprietary drivers. Unfortunately even that didn't help me with my bad luck so far. I have decided to give up trying Linux, at-least f

I mean, sound not working is pretty user hostile too. But yeah, I have come to the conclusion Linux isn't right for me. Sadly neither is Windows, and macOS is rapidly getting worse. Do you remember when computers were fun?

If only moving to Linux were an option for everyone. The other day I tried for the 100th time to move to Linux. I installed a recent build of a maintained, popular distribution (no it doesn't matter which one - I have tried them all),

And this is why I gave up some time ago when it comes to privacy/security. It just became exhausting to keep up with all the vulnerabilities. But of course, giving up isn't the solution. So now I am working on it again...
