Why don't we have a version of Windows without as much legacy support? Like a security hardened (or really just modern-only) version of Windows? I suspect most people would be fine using that version of Windows, and it would have less

Why did this happen? Was "%" significant in some way? i.e. maybe it was passing the path to sprintf?

How is stunnel a workaround? Honestly that would seem like an ideal solution to me - "do one thing, do it well". Stunnel can focus on having a rock solid TLS implementation and Redis can focus on being a great DB. Am I missing som

From using Linux on my MacBook, I remember poor palm rejection being one frustration. Also, I think multi-touch - such as scrolling with two fingers - didn't work. Just all round it wasn't very pleasant to work with. Perhaps if yo

Is there a list of languages Cloudflare Workers supports? From what I can tell, it's JS, Rust, C, C++, and now COBOL. So... no PHP then? Seems like it would be a good fit, no?

As a C newbie, will there ever be "safe" C, i.e. no undefined behavior and help with writing code that has less memory related crashes/bugs? For comparison, Rust has the `unsafe { }' block which lets you mark regions of

I'd be interested in such a list - I suspect it may be small, independent companies. Which is probably a good thing to support anyway. Also may help lower carbon footprint a little?

Oh I'm so glad to see progress is being made in this area. Inkscape was just unusable for me on macOS. Now it's a bit more bearable. Keep up the good work!

One reason I switched to Fastmail is it's just folders, not labels. I HATED labels in Gmail. It never works right with external clients, even if you use plugins in Thunderbird or try to use labels like they are folders. I gave up and

Why isn't AGPL listed? I believe it doesn't have protection specifically against commercialization, but it's very difficult to link proprietary software with AGPL code. Wouldn't that effectively do the same? I might have

Not yet, though I am working on replacing proprietary software I use with free software that's Linux/BSD compatible. It's a long journey - started using Windows. macOS is a nice gap-stop, but the long term destination is prob

We shouldn't ever trade security for performance. Doing that is how Microsoft ended up putting shit like font rendering into the kernel. Made Windows very fast, but made it so much worse when a bug was found.

I don't write C++ though I have written some C. I imagine it's easier to shoot yourself in the foot with C++ compared to Rust; it's specifically designed to be a safe language, whereas C++ had things like auto_ptr added Why h

How about this - every time a problem like this is found, the affected component is rewritten in Rust. Kinda like how a bug should ideally be fixed by reproducing the issue with a unit test first - the test ensures that particular problem w

Nobody is forcing you to do that. Your browser is very likely going to have a "Don't remember" option. You're free to keep your credit card details in your password manager or type it out every time.
