I don't have the tests on hand, but I did some benchmarks back in 2005 or 2006 and the difference was about 100ms for tens-of-thousands of nested tables and divs and what-not. So, yeah, doing any of this stuff is just a giant waste of time.

Because we all know that people are being literal when looking for a rockstar. Right? Have a little imagination. I'm not a huge fan of it, myself, but there are certain scenarios where using 'rockstar' or 'ninja' even makes sense -- asuming

The script performs pretty poorly on Safari 4.0.4 too... compared to the YouTube one at least.

I agree with this... I just got back into it recently and MtG is pretty much growing and growing. It seems like the 360 Planeswalkers game also gave it a nice boost. Actually, I'm planning to do some pretty involved development related to c

Basically you're proposing a much more involved OpenID. I'm sorry, but beyond everything that was already pointed out, you also clearly don't know enough about the space that you want to "revolutionize". Hint: what you propose isn't all tha

I don't think you have an understanding of how much people make/stuff costs in India, if you're actually comparing prices of iPhones in US with prices of iPhones in India. Hint: why do you think there's so much outsourcing to India?

Definitely should not get you rejected from the app store, while stuff like Wolfenstein 3D is in there. Plus you can use the YouTube app from Apple to find plenty of gory stuff.

You seem to have found a lot of implied meaning in that one sentence. You also have an extremely low treshold for what you consider an insult.

It's about a month old at this point, but I didn't find it posted on YC previously. (With that said, I'm sure everyone follows "Ask the VC" anyway.) It's definitely worth spending the hour and a half watching the video. Lots of interesting

I recommend watching Sex and the City, you would quickly find that it's not responsible for those things. Sorry.

Part time at the moment (and only for a short time, 2 months), going to jump into it full-time in a couple of months, once all of my current projects end.

Actually it's right there in the contract... although I'm no legal professional, so I could be misunderstanding it.

Maybe you just work with the wrong designers... ? No sane, professional designer I know, works like that.

It doesn't matter if 1/10 left or all left, it matters that some very prominent designers, who were supposed to be leading the user interface design at Google, left. They were all very accomplished and well-known.

This sounds like you have no clue of who the guy is. I don't think there's a single company or start-up that wouldn't hire him. You're talking about a guy who talks at numerous conferences every year (or at least did), who designed Blogger

I assume that they're talking about the North American market, not Europe. With that said, I know next to nothing about CurrentCost... maybe it's available in NA too, in which case their claim would be incorrect.

While I definitely agree with you, I also think that Apple should start more seriously addressing these kinds of problems. So far, unlike Microsoft, they've been very slow to respond. (I'm an Apple-user.)

Smultron, BBEdit, TextWrangler... depends on what you need, TextWrangler and Smultron are probably the simplest, although they're also limited in certain ways.

Basically, each block tag (h1, h2, h3, p, li, etc.) would create a new instance of sIFR, thus creating a new flash object on the page. For example, you can't use just one flash object for a long stream of text, if that stream of text is div

I hope you're aware of sIFR speed issues when you're replacing multiple different instances of text. It dramatically slows down the browser. (And when dealing with PDFs, I wouldn't be surprised if on average you had to use 20+ sIFR flash ob

I think we all know that people who are unhappy with something usually speak up louder than those who are happy; as such, claiming that "every other" MacBook Air is flawed is (likely) severely exaggerated. My girlfriend has a MacBook Air, i

Just to clarify... one founder gets $10,000.00, two founders get $15,000.00, three founders get $20,000.00. It's clearly stated in the FAQ... what hope is there, if you can't even read the terms correctly.
