Did they ever figure out how to run nix on top of MacOS? When I see a project uses Nix I know the creators aren't serious. It's kind of like seeing something is written in Lisp or Scheme... somebody decided that functional systems

Use Nix on a Mac they say, it’s easy. Just follow this 20 page long blog post and then spend every day fighting against how the OS wants to work. I’ve tried Nix on a Mac half a dozen times. It always ends with frustration. Homebrew works am

This is terrible anti-social advice. Getting projects to work is about organizing people to work together. Unless your DJB, software is a team sport. If it is a one person project it will fail. Now when somebody offers to help, be welcoming

People pirate streams of soccer matches because it's nearly impossible to pay for legally. The matches for a single team or league are spread out amongst a ton of different streaming providers. Sometimes there is no paid option at all

It's slow and expensive. In comparison, I moved from Uruguay where you could get 5G almost everywhere, and in VERY rural areas it drops to 4G. Per GB of pre-paid data, NZ is 20,000% more expensive than Uruguay, in a straight-up apples

The rural mobile coverage in Aotearoa New Zealand is terrible. I'm excited about this. This probably will get me to switch from Spark because at the moment they have the best rural coverage.

That's weird, I can tickle myself but am not at all ticklish when anybody else does it. This has always proved to be a kind of superpower when in a tickle fight. I've never looked into why.
