I lived in Canada for 12 years and regularly visited the US for pleasure and work.

I’m not reading anything online, I literally lived in Canada for 12 years and saw first hand how awful the US is. You would have to pay me a lot to live there, which explains the astronomical wages for tech workers. And I disagree about you

You can just buy an AC in Europe, most of the time you don’t need it though

I guess we should go back to feudalism then?

Government debt doesn’t matter. It’s literally fake.

You do know that we used to have currencies backed by gold, and it was so awful that it caused the great depression right?

Nobody’s asking for a “handout”. Money is power. Elon Musk would be a cringe lord if he wasn’t rich. But because he’s rich he gets to play government. That’s the point of taxation. It’s not to fund anything. The government doesn’t need your

This lifestyle is literally impossible in most US cities unless you’re a high income earner.

Because nobody wants to live in the south, midwest and east coast. The west coast was a great place to live, people moved there, they didn’t build enough housing, people lose their jobs and can’t afford rent, they go homeless.

You know, “forcing homeless people off the streets” so they die somewhere else isn’t the amazing policy you think it is

Idk why you think your kids should get your money when you die. If they didn’t earn it then they should get a small amount and have to work for the rest, just like everyone else.

How is the “standard of living” in the US in any way higher than europe?

Making driving way more expensive takes care of that.

Journalism’s responsibility is to the truth, not to some perceived notion of fairness. The right in the US has been living in their own reality for a while now. Media does not owe liars any time of day. Don’t take this to mean the democrats

Yes, there is a korean team. The Japanese team is, no exaggeration, 10x larger. And if you think that’s preposterous you don’t know the least of it. For example, the designers in the company decided to boycott meetings.

This is completely false. Line has been developed almost entirely in japan after the first couple years. The japanese team at this point is a couple orders of magnitude larger than the korean one, and most of the development is decided in j

There is no merit that warrants more than 10 million dollars. At that point money is just power, not consumption.

It’s actually really easy to fix that. You give government right of first refusal on any low density property for sale in california, you get rid of sfh zoning, re-zone anything within 1Km of public transport as high density, and then build

Natural deficit is literally meaningless. You’re telling on yourself by mentioning it that you don’t understand economics. And you haven’t addressed how you’re going to get people to stop using oil without taxes.

Cities are suitable for public transport and that’s where most californians live. Yes, they shoud rebuild their cities, it’s called development and is done all the time.

I think I see what you’re saying, and I agree with you that the wealth inequality between the ultra rich and everyone else is the real challenge. The tech worker with a Google salary is a lot closer to a homeless man on the street than he i
