Yeah, it's a pretty bad suggestion. Many projects don't directly generate revenue. It ignores practically all support projects that help people to do their job (i.e. improving the bugtracker, sales software, test software etc).

This might have been a better page to choose then: https://github.com/liebke/incanter/wiki#getstarted I get a bit put-off when the first thing I see on a project website is a source tree, unless that's what I was expecting.

I think Done lists are probably a good way of staying motivated. I guess I've kind of been doing it already as my last task of the day is to quickly write down what I've been working on during the day (not necessarily completed though). Als

What I find funny is that the article really argues for Done lists in conjunction with todo lists rather than replacing todo lists. A better article might have been "Why To-Do Lists Need Done Lists".

A better link is probably: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Smoking_ban_in_wal... as the piece was filmed in Wales, not England.

Yes, but it doesn't really mention that in the documentation. It would be good to something along the lines of "You will need to know Clojure to use ClojureScript One, go here to learn it". This looks excellent though - I'll give it a go on

If you're in Scotland, Business Gateway are meant to help new (small) companies. They've been pretty useless with me so far though. I'll give them another go later. Scottish Enterprise are supposed to help "ambitious" (larger) companies. I

Fully agree. Education should be primarily about furthering knowledge, not finding a job. The same should be true about school as well as Uni. I studied Computer Science because I was interested in it, not because I thought I would make a l

It also has a lot of advantages: - all you need is a pair of decent trainers and shorts - you don't need a partner - you make obvious and steady progress - most people unused to exercise need to work on cardiovascular stuff, not six packs -

My photo locations seemed to be mainly based on the album title - I was impressed that it got both locations from "St Catharines and Niagara" correct. I haven't checked to see if the individual photos are correct. However, at the time I did

Don't you think it's a pretty shaky argument? They're not transferring much data on your phone because of "recruiter math"? And isn't it likely that some phones are set to transfer more data than others?

Fair enough, it's difficult. I'm sensing a lot of hatred for suits here though :) I'm not sure what to say about choosing who to work with. It's difficult, but frankly you have to trust people now and again or you'll have a rubbish life. I

Nobody but yourself can answer this. There's no point in starting a big new venture if your heart isn't in it. Having said that: - Don't look for someone to manage you, rather look for a business savvy partner - You earn 60-80k and don't ow

Thanks! Very good examples. I can see how monkey patching could be useful in mocking or something similar. I've never really used a language that supports it though. I'm not entirely sure what Eclipse's code generation has to do with testin
