The TVs aren't "Smart" for the consumers. They are "Smart" for the producers/advertisers/etc that want to data mine your television consumption (now including various streaming services).

No it's not. All classified material is provided on a "Need to Know" basis. You can't just have a clearance and get access to every classified document out there, that's ridiculous.

I'm not saying it's the smartest thing to do, but Excel can most certainly handle data on the order of tens of thousands of rows. It's not blazing fast, but Pivoting that much data is not a problem at all.

Closed captioning has always seemed to me to be a notoriously bad data set due to misspellings and misphrasing. Has anyone tried to do (a better) speech to text of a cable news channel, for instance? Doing frequency and sentiment analysis
