Good job Mozilla! Do what Google never will - put users' privacy front and center. On a sidenote, I might now re-enable cache that I kept disabled (well - cleared on exit) because of supercookies. I don't care that much if a singl

GPL doesn't allow anyone to put too much restrictions on the software. This is the point - it protects users' interests.

I believe the GP was just posting the text from Pidgine website, not writing it. Quick search reveals that up to 5 devices can be tied to the same Apple account: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/8030144

This is false. License [0] clearly states the conditions under which you can do it and they seem pretty reasonable. Nothing that a normal user, faced with an issue they want to fix, wouldn't accept. I imagine Amazon would have trouble

We've had good success with making SD cards read-only. Of course this means that any data needs to be sent to a service for saving... YMMV.

This might explain it - Switzerland is in Europe, but not part of EU. At least in EU consumer has lots of rights and is pretty well protected. I have no idea how that is in Switzerland (though what you report surprises me). That said, legal

Me too. But your comment surprised me as I remember hearing about this new thing "JavaScript" waaaaay earlier than about CSS. I didn't actually know they came out this close together.

How can DNS be "full of spyware"? Or are you saying that it is used for spying on you? But anyway, it is your decision to use them - you can use 1.1.1.1 (CloudFlare), 8.8.8.8 (Google - if you don't mind the tracking) or any o

It is difficult to take such study seriously then the chart says: > % of newly divorced people per 1,000 married population What does that even mean? The text clears this up: > For every 1,000 marriages in the last year, only 14.9 end

True, but the amount the publisher gets is negotiable. Not saying that 30% is acceptable, of course - I have no idea what the margins on books are.

I guess the proper process here is that one starts with the code as it was before the contribution, with a ticket describing what needs to be done, and writes the missing code. Preferably this is done by a person who never saw the contribut

How is it possible that in the time where filesystems with history exist (btrfs, I think ZFS?), this kind of attacks are still possible? It is just software... I would assume it would take OS vendors waaaay less money to implement foolproof

To facebook? They don't care about those few hundred of dollars from you, they want to advertise to you. So either you get a FB account and they can, or you don't - and they hope that sooner or later you will succumb.

The 4 exploits they got paid for don't seem like the biggest ones though. I would expect Apple to pay $500k - $1M for this session in the end, and it would be in the best interest of all parties if this happened. Apple would encourage
