My guess: Money Laundering. You could certainly pay less than ~$20,000 in Stripe/CC fees to move $1M if your motives were on the up and up. Especially if you were doing it regularly.

If you have your own domain name for your email, you can point it at any host's servers. Google in the case of Gsuite or Fastmail or Pobox or anyone else. If you have regular backups, all you have to do is change a DNS record to switch

Your OS hasnt received a security patch in 3 years. Your iTerm hasn't been updated in 2 years. I wouldn't worry so much about iTerm and would start working harder on those issues that are preventing you from updating.
