Out of all the world's grievances, people who choose something like hating IDEs to pedestal about will always amaze. Humanity is hilarious sometimes.

This is simply not true. Synthetic data is a huge research arm of ML work.

Definitely agree with this sentiment. My perspective on receiving more respect in the South probably has a lot to do with being a redneck looking white guy.

It really depends. I took an entire geography class back in college called "The South", and a big part of it was defining what exactly the south is. Some people would consider Texas and Florida to be parts of the south, but most d

Its just where you live. Welcome to large cities. You can move to more hospitable parts of the country where people still have basic respect for people. The politics in the South sure have annoyed me, but dealing with the public (i.e. peopl

I have to admit this thread is the first time Ive ever heard someone calling planned obsolescence a 'conspiracy theory'. I thought it was pretty well understood. Live and learn I guess, couldn't let the tinfoil hat folks have

Planned obsolescence is the entire backbone of the American economy. We could get rid of it in one fell swoop, but then basically every company in the country would go bankrupt and then the world. A sad state of affairs. Perhaps incremental

Maybe you found the key. Don't sit back down in front of the screen unless you have to. Fill your day with enriching activities, instead of filling your day with screen and breaking it up with the occasional enriching activity.

There are tradeoffs everywhere. You have to assume that when stacking millions of people on top of each other everyone will not own a home. That's not a "policy" issue, it's just physics. If you want to live in city for

It's more of an inference and practical thing. If you want to equip something with limited energy (e.g. a drone using a small battery) with the ability to use a neural network for inference, their system could use much less energy than
