That is a pretty impressive bit of coding to be able to pull out the recipes, especially from more free form places like reddit. I like the thinking about a one-time payment system, but the problem comes in that all your revenue would have

Actually that isn't even accurate the search only looks for the word apple, not even specific to AAPL. rmah's comment does a good job laying it out.

I think that would be excellent point to make to them, if you haven't already.

Reverse the role and think about if someone came to you or you were looking to invest in a company. Would you invest in yourselves?

I think "Uncanny Valley" is exactly right. It was something we faced when building an AIR app, we could mimic the look of the each OS pretty closely but it never felt quite right. In the end we opted to a stylize feel of each OS but not an

Thank you for running this poll I am working a greasemonkey script for HN and I will definitely be adding Chrome support before I release it.

I'm glad to see other tools for RAD succeeding but after trying it I don't know that it is the most polished game and probably wouldn't survive if it wasn't free (almost hate saying that about a 14-year-old's game).

Perhaps the using the term "fools" could be seen as an attack. They do bring up some interesting grievances.

I've been playing with creating a CardDAV server, which is pretty mush shuffling vCard files around. You could probably something similar with Dropbox.

Another way would be to do what newegg has done and build a deeper system of filtering than amazon. There is no way I can filter certain components on amazon that are common place on newegg.

It really depends on the scope of the project. Simple projects I just hack through, which acts like a design process. In 2004 I built a personal delicious clone, which I pretty much hacked together in a week. Overtime I added more and more

I think even more important is "to thine own self be true" part of which is to empirically know yourself. I use journaling and automatic tools to measure my own productivity. I experiment and make adjustments as needed.

There will probably be an iPhone 4S (ala 3GS) that will feature a couple improvements but not a departure from the current iPhone 4. the other conjecture of a universal iPhone probably won't come to pass as Apple gave up on the programmable

That isn't how you patent troll, you first go after smaller targets to build up case law and/or settlements. Then you go after bigger and bigger targets. This seems like a really speedy way to invalidate your patent

I've used this library in the past, but it is really too bad it hasn't been updated since 2006. I've since moved on to PHP's DOMDocument::loadHTML function.

I think Kevin's response is perfectly reasonable. If his account of Followgram's behavior is accurate (2 sides, stories, and all) I have to agree with Instagram's actions.

Its an interesting idea, but unqualified advice isn't as useful as knowing the background of the person reviewing giving you feed back. When you ask for feedback on HN you can look at the history of the person offering you advice. Perhaps a

This is total speculation; back in Sept. I was thinking about the white iPhone 4 and how it was delayed. I can see it only being available on Verizon (for a limited time) followed by specific colors for different carries, much like KitchenA

I believe it is a significant change for the focus of NVIDIA, less so the world. It has long been rumored that they might be working on a CPU. It is a little bit like the surprise of Apple's A4 processor.
