The copilot.vim [1] plugin, for what it’s worth, is not FOSS. [1]: https://github.com/github/copilot.vim

I usually say that when people say “legacy project”, it’s really “code I either don’t understand or don’t like”.

AFAIK Bazel does not use the sandbox by default. Last time I experimented with it, the sandbox had some problematic holes, but I don’t remember exactly what, and it’s been a few years. The very doc you link hints at that, while also giving

I’d extend it to any icons, not just AWS ones. I agree usually the generic technology is more interesting than the semantic thing. Icons in architecture diagrams are distracting noise. They might be okay if they were smaller, but usually

I think it depends if one is using “AI” as a tool or as a replacement for an intelligent expert? The former, sure, it’s maybe not expected, because the prompter is already an intelligent expert. If the latter, then yes, I think, because i

Both the V-Raptor & Komodo have an RF mount and thus can accept the Canon Dual Fisheye lens. The resolution is a lot lower, and neither sensor is well-matched to the lens’s image circle. The whole point of the Canon Dual Fisheye lens is

And the article itself in the older thread is a far more interesting read than this OP.

TIL. Crazy times, at least Intel finally admitted failure in their fab, I guess. Still doesn’t get the latest nodes, though.

Is this really about the architecture itself, or about the licensing of it? AMD and Intel are, afaik, the only ones legally allowed to use x86, and likely have no plans to allow anyone else.

It’s not quite a fair comparison, given Intel has their own fab, while Apple uses TSMC—and pays them a lot to get exclusive access to new nodes before anyone else.

Nix optimise does not use symlinks, it uses hardlinks.

It’s off by default as it can make builds slower (regardless of platform)—you should test this if you care. There also are (or were) some bugs on macOS that would cause corruption.

Nix already has some builtin deduplication, see `man nix-store-optimise`. Nix’s own hardlinking optimization reduces disk usage of the store (for me) by 30–40%.

Well the article brings up containers as an example. If the sysadmin controls “your” parent or root process (e.g. the login shell), they can just perform seccomp filtering there and it applies to everything within it (like any other sandbox

By that logic, calling any function with a loop or recursion should be forbidden, as it hides computational complexity at the call site. I.e. should we get rid of `slices.Sort` (etc.) because it hides computational complexity?

TL;DR: emulating any ARM binaries on x86_64 via QEMU is so slow that it is unusable for any general use. This is also less of a QEMU problem and more just that ARM does not emulate well on x86_64 due to their designs.

Hackintosh currently has no way of running ARM-based macOS, so it is of no help here.

No, it’s not. The name is still visible, but not on the chat list, only the in-app contact card. Thus it’s an anti -privacy feature as it coerces users share all their contacts with Meta.

Finally I can see names in WhatsApp, as I now just share the contacts that I actually use WhatsApp with. Meta dark-pattern coerces into sharing all contacts by not showing names on the message list until one does—even though the contact has

They added enough weight back to the 16 Pro that it’s now only 7 grams lighter than the 14 Pro, whereas the 15 Pro was 19 grams lighter than the 14 Pro. (I just want a new Mini, tbh)

“Improved version…capabilities are relatively limited”. Who writes this stuff? The Lite version is only “improved” in the sense that it works with Manifest v3. It’s certainly not a replacement for the original, and the original isn’t going

Implicit library loading isn’t even the real problem, it’s the global namespace. I think it, more than anything else, makes large projects difficult to manage due to the inability to grok the dependency graph.

Drag and dropping photos and other files from iPhone (plugged via USB) works well on Linux in the file browser. Too bad it seems Apple can’t figure it out on their own OS, though maybe they have now.
