It's worse than that, just because a charger can support 60W doesn't mean it supports every standard combination of volts and amps below that level and just because a device can charge at 60W doesn't mean it uses the same com

The key here though is that your server keeps the last N ticks of state (probably around 20) and calculates the diff for each player based on the last id they reported seeing. This way missing an update doesn't get you completely out o

Kyro started as custom but flopped in the Snapdragon 820 so they moved to a "semi-custom" design, it's unclear how different it really is from the stock Cortex designs.

Pretty sure on both of those /sbin is just a symlink to /usr/sbin. If the static thing was ever true I suppose once you've moved everything in to /usr you wouldn't bother anymore.

In theory async/await can be compiled to something as efficient as if you wrote all the non-blocking logic by hand so yeah, it's a "zero cost" abstraction. For green threads the stdlib would have to be designed around th

Direct Rendering Manager has been a part of the kernel since 1999, before the 2.4 release. At that time the term Digital Rights Management as a catch-all for CSS, dongles, etc wasn't widespread.

If that's true they've already been wrong in recent history. The US changed when they do DST in 2007 and I believe other countries have moved it around recently as well. If you're dealing with timezones (which DST is) you eit

You either feed them junk so they waste time filtering out the good intel from the bad, use them as a communications backchannel, or both.

With F# or TypeScript or similar things you can compile down to a common bytecode or to the base language and use the result. Unless you were writing an OCaml to Go transpiler you'd need to ship a copy of the Go source code alongside a

I think you're seeing this case from the article: > So when you see Trump or other conservatives calling for a Section 230 repeal, sometimes it is just an effort to inflict pain to try and get the platforms to do what they want.

Last time I looked in to it this is true for at least Servo though. DOM objects use the SpiderMonkey GC for memory management since that makes them easier to work with from JS and means they didn't have to write a separate graph manage

C99 ensures it can be used with basically every other language and can be compiled for almost every platform. Bindings on top of that for other languages would be nice but can be provided by the community too. If it was C++, Rust, Nim, etc

I imagine the answer is going to be that it doesn't. Stuff using Accelerate will probably see the biggest performance hit because it _doesn't_ use the arm64 version and the emulator translates those instructions poorly. However, s

The page we're discussing here actually says you can't mix arm64 and amd64 code in a single process, if your binary is amd64 all your libraries will be too. I'd be surprised if they put in the work to generate thunks for all
