I found that article extremely uncomfortable... Those big numbers start to twist my mind in unnatural ways!

I switched to Edge from Firefox for a couple of weeks. Works well but I'm back on Firefox now - there are a couple of Firefox features I've come to rely on like the containers and the sidebar.

I tried zooming out - Firefox let's you zoom out to 30% - but still couldn't get close to seeing the whole thing. At this zoom level the browser becomes pretty unresponsive anyway... This reminded me of Tim Urban's article ab

I'm surprised by the number of responses in this thread from people not understanding the purpose of HTTPS, even for static sites. This is a good summary of why you should use HTTPS: https://doesmysiteneedhttps.com/

I use (and pay) for Inoreader. I was a loyal subscriber to Feedbin for a few years but the developer made some UI changes for the worse, and then wasn't interested in feedback. After a couple of long outages, I decided to switch away.

Hi - thanks for the comment. That's not a direction I've considered yet, but sounds interesting. Current focus is to redevelop the backend logic to make adding new checks easier.

I’ve just released an app you can use to scan your Django site for common security errors. The core security checking logic is lifted from the now defunct PonyCheckUp site but I have rewritten it for the latest Python and Django versions. T

You're right, and what really grates me is how anyone who raises similar opinions/questions is instantly labelled transphobic and told to shut up. The Motherboard/Vice article that is referenced in the article ( https:/&

You should use `pip install --user`. Or even better, use virtual environments instead. Or, if you need to install system-wide tools with pip, install and use `pipx`.

I quite like the Wordpress Multisite model which deploys a separate set of tables for each blog in a single MySQL database. Then you can add on the HyperDB plugin which lets you create rules to split the sets of tables into different databa

Agree - these numbers are way off and to be honest are pretty difficult to calculate. There are a number of 'unlimited' mobile data plans and at the same time you can still get charged 50c per MB ($500/GB) on some pay-as-you-

I would argue that with the Samsung bloat, a bunch of it adds value and you can safely ignore the rest of it. There are probably only a couple of minor features that are actively annoying. Overall, I'm happy with my Galaxy.
