Except the price of personal computing is skyrocketing due to the build out of these data centres! I'd love to build a personal computer to run local models, but it's just not affordable any more.

And you want to add an unreliable, non-deterministic LLM into the flow too?

That doesn't justify what's going on here. Why is Microsoft endorsing the use of pirated materials.

I agree with the previous commenter - I hate Discord for all the same reasons. But you said: "That's because you're not in the target market. And I guess not interested in the space." and this is the bit that frustrates

Why would you not put a description like this on your actual website? Your homepage does not explain anything about what this actually does. Are you really expecting infrastructure engineers to install your app with a bash command after onl

See this for something that might help your Wi-Fi issue. https://gist.github.com/gornostal/192e2ae29af3da1baeea384d0f... I had the same problem on my new Yoga laptop with Fedora and an Intel BE200 Wi-Fi card.

"pyx" is their first commercial offering: https://astral.sh/pyx I agree though. Hope this is successful and they keep building awesome open-source tools.

We also have a Samsung TV, and I much prefer the Samsung software over the LG. Neither is great though.

I have an LG TV purchased about 3 years ago. It had a bunch of "AI" features from day one, but mostly related to improving the picture quality dynamically based on what's on the screen. I disabled all of that stuff, so I gues

Yep, and a lot of the responses to those "nobody wants to by Microsoft's AI" articles seem to get confused with the annoying copilot buttons that are popping up everywhere, and the actual enterprise-AI features that MS are pu

I know! Google *Workspace* is about the closest competitor to M365, but here in NZ I don't see any large orgs switching to it. There was one that I knew about it, but they switched back to M365 after a couple of years.

This was the key point I tried to make at the start of this thread: "It's not just using a different version of Excel and Word - that's the least of the issues."

Exactly - that's what I was trying point out in my original comment. The desktop office apps are actually reasonably easy to swap out for a large portion of people. It's the rest of the M365 suite which is massive.

Here in NZ, pretty much all medium/large businesses and govt departments have gone all-in with M365. Most govt departments are on the E5 licence, and have also started to roll out the Copilot licences too. The cost and complexity and

I use this combination on my personal laptop, but on my work machine I need to use Edge browser. For some reason, Edge still supports the uBlock Origin extension, so I get to avoid ads on my work laptop too.

The way it's typically done is that the worker process reports back its progress to the job metadata on the queue, and the web worker polls the job metadata to read the progress. I've implemented this for progress bars many times

Your comment just reminded me I can use my Yubikey to unlock my Linux laptop but hadn't set this up yet. I've been typing my password each time like an animal! Thanks. :-)

I had previously asked about this. My understanding is that there is a desire to add functionality to allow this, but in this first release the task system is intentionally very lightweight.
