This take seems to be predicated on the idea that VCs are out there funding teams just because of the technical complexity of their codebase? This just doesn't seem like the reality to me. If it can be done better for cheaper, VCs will

How can something be both state-of-the-art and battle tested? I thought battle tested meant something more like "tried and true" (AKA not new). Cool product though!

If you mail Don Knuth about the error you found in TAOCP, he'll send you a check for $1 -- he used to do that, anyway. People tend not to cash the cheque, but keep it.

I also recommend the book "Grokking Simplicity" by Eric Normand for a longer exploration of functional software design (not Clojure-specific). The linked blog post uses Clojure examples, but this approach to software design is uni

I guess this article isn't for me, since I have no problem with working hard. I enjoy it, and derive meaning from doing good work. In "Man's Search for Meaning", Viktor Frankl identifies three areas of focus to find mean

I admire and respect John Carmack for his role in the history of computing (and his ongoing contributions), but I don't see how making 3D video games was really helping humanity more than this. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It's important to note that she defrauded investors long after it became clear that the "bells and whistles" she was selling were just smoke and mirrors. Theranos isn't a typical case of founder hype like you describe. I

I'm sorry, what? Why wouldn't you want a Lock Screen? That's a basic security measure, without a lock screen Windows would be a non-starter for any secure enterprise.

Sad story (though of course there's always more than one side to any story!) I hope folks are clueing into this by now, but flashy policies like "unlimited vacation" or "unlimited sick days" _are_ a scam. They sell

The work is funded by a Clojure community group (and a Clojure-using company), and Tonsky has written a bunch of awesome other Clojure (see DataScript[1]). So it seems as though the decision to use Clojure was not made for technical reasons
