My RB3011 has been pretty much rock solid for me. If you don't mind me asking - what kinds of issues have you run into?

Sadly not. You generally have to be very technically inclined to use something like Mikrotik (which is what I'm using) and even the Ubiquiti stuff isn't as easy to use as it could be.

Reading stuff like this makes me glad I ditched consumer grade all-in-one stuff and went with a $REAL (feel free to substitute appropriate brand) router and stand alone AP.

For me, WireGuard isn't really a viable option because I want functional mDNS name resolution. As a test, I did set up a vxlan tunnel through a wireguard tunnel (linux to linux) to prove that it is possible to get that working. Howeve

There was also that time many, many years ago they decided to remove the ability to load binary firmware blobs for things like network cards in the kernel because of an interesting interpretation of the GPL. :-/

I really wonder why Mozilla employees think it is acceptable to do that without informed consent for users running Windows. No one would tolerate Mozilla installing a binary in ~/bin/ and configuring it to be run via user crontab

While this is a nice development, I personally still require running VMs and Hyper-V's GUI/console support is so limited I'm going to be forced to stick with VirtualBox for VMs. Fortunately, Cygwin is fine for basic shell

I use btrfs in raid1 mode and the ability to shrink/grow/add/remove devices at will without data loss or extended downtime led me to choose btrfs over zfs on my home servers.

That particular bug (having my container setup get blown away) has happened to me several times along with other bugs like not properly restoring tabs in the designated container when you restart FF to apply an update. Bugs like that would

I find it ironic that I go to read an article about banning people from accessing content and get greeted with the following: Error 1005 Ray ID: 545442d6fa2aec4e • 2019-12-15 00:22:04 UTC Access denied What happened? The owner of

I'm running 18.04 LTS and Gnome 3 is unusable due to lag/resource consumption on a i7-2600 system with an nVidia 710 GT whereas Unity runs butter smooth. Unity doesn't get in the way of me interacting with my desktop applicat

Telcos are not incentivized to do much about this problem because they get paid by the scammers to complete their calls. As long as telcos continue to make money from these fraudulent calls, the problem will continue to exist. I'm not

I'm glad to see that they are finally focusing some serious attention on these performance problems. I found the default gnome shell to be so poorly performing as to be unusable in Ubuntu 18.04 on a core i7-2600 system with dedicated

It's not just executables. I once caught Microsoft Defender sending copies of sensitives files like places.sqlite out of my Firefox profile directory to Redmond. Needless to say, I disabled that feature permanently via local policy.
