Presumably written by a person who wasn't a web developer back then or were developing solely for Internet Explorer.

I'm not claiming otherwise. I'm just saying that saving some hundreds of millions of dollars on compute is what Rust as a language can enable.

No one cares? I am confident someone got a promotion out of AI automating that. It is the metric being tracked in performance reviews. What is not tracked is how the readers experience it, so no point in putting effort into that. Bottom lin

Google invented PWAs and broke their back trying to make them a thing. I'm not a fan of Google but credit where credit is due. They were also highly incentivized to develop the APIs that make it all work as Chromebooks are basically ho

Aggregated metrics are always useless as they tend to show interesting and sometimes exciting data that in actuality contains zero insight. I'm always weary of people making decisions based on aggregate metrics. Would be nice to know t

When it comes to Teams, unfortunately we do. It's actually used across Microsoft in general. A company of this size requires Teams even if just for the sake of keeping up with security and compliance.

Teams is used in the Teams org that develops it in Microsoft yes. Source: I work on Teams free/consumer. Not to say that the developers working on it are satisfied with it..

Perhaps the amount of JavaScript used in a website is not a contributing factor into how usable a person finds it /s. Honestly, you don't judge a back-end by how much code it's built with or what platform it's hosted on.

Plain Android has work profiles that will allow the user to enable/disable a "work profile" at will. This is what I use because we have on-call duties and on most weeks I don't need to be available on my work accounts.

All of them have both global and component-scope styles. Not having that flexibility would make a UI framework not viable for modern web dev. Just like with any code, you want to scope as much as possible, but an escape hatch is essential t

I mean vested stock doesn't necessarily need to go up in value. In some places the stock comp is higher than the actual pay, so even if you sell on the day of vesting you're doubling your income. So the investment viability of sto
