You can still see the difference in a high detail spectrogram like RX9 produces. There are some artifacts beyond just cutting off above 20khz. There are also full range mp3s, since iTunes by default doesn't apply a hard 20khz lowpass l

Ah, that is interesting. For a specific reason I'm still keeping a copy of 8.2.1 around, the version just before that, but I've actually currently forgotten that reason. I think the way it renders audio files, newer versions write

I have actually used the fact that you can "easily" read these projects by eye in the past. 1. Some tracks have some really odd BPMs ... not 127, but 127.0346867 or something. Live unfortunately only ever shows two digits in the c

Yeah, I'm aware of that. I've had to edit mangled names a few times too many - transferring between idbs and changing const char * to char * (PBD to PAD I think? thankfully I'm already not sure anymore), for example. Or chan

The Terraria devs don't care and actively encourage modding. Otherwise they'd have used an obfuscator.

FYI, MSVC doesn't do this. I use this same hack in a project where I need access to private/protected members in the current stage, and memory layouts need to match ... You gave me a bit of a heart attack there. mingw gcc (11.2.0)

Mh, that makes sense. And what, the new Winamp owners are into NFTs? I have no words. It will never close (unless you click "shut down anyway"). Maybe I'll dig into that some day - after a quick google, maybe it just doesn&#x

I think it was precisely your blog post (?) which I read that detailed that it was pre 5.666! Is the problem that now that the source is out you can no longer claim plausible deniability you never saw it or what exact complications does it

The source code leaked a while ago, but IIRC not the final version. And it's not like one could really use it.

It did once, over 10 years ago (in 2008 or so, with the whole fmt=18 arguments etc), if your total video bitrate was below 320 kbps, it left the audio untouched ... I wonder if those videos from back then are still around and if yes, still

I think you mean the automod setting that autodeletes your comments if your account is too new? That's something entirely different and not a sitewide ban like a shadowban would be. That's up to the moderators of the subreddit.

Reddit stopped using shadowbans to ban actual users a while ago, it's only for spammers now. Of course, it still happens now and then accidentally, but it's not meant to be a punishment for real users that break sitewide rules.

They did, but the accounts got deleted probably. I was going from 1200-1000 on a mostly inactive account for years.

I had to take a detour once because an entire group of them was blocking the street. Close to there, I once at night encountered the same group on the boardwalk, switched sides, and had to warn a couple that I saw a few meters ahead. Last y

Here are a couple of screenshots I made just a few days ago: https://imgur.com/a/f8630kc The original colour timing is very certainly NOT the green bucket they spilled over the masters for the original bluray release.

There is actually a 35mm scan with iffy colors, but absolutely no extreme green tint. For example Neo in the office is just basically normal colors, same as the new 4k remaster. Edit: Here are some screenshots: https://imgur.com&

The most damning piece of evidence is that they have twice the encoder delay (mp3 encoders add a few samples at the beginning and end) that the file would have if encoded once (from VC PS2 for example).

Well I'm kind of an audio nerd, and the radios are great to listen to in the background, so I guess that explains it. You probably can't find it, but it's relatively easy to figure out by just browsing the original game files

GTA3 for the radios was using IMA ADPCM on both PS2 and PC. Some cutscene files were PCM, some files were mp3. Vice City used adf, a custom container for (horrible quality) mp3 files. PS2 still used ADPCM. Most PC cutscene files are mp3 (tw

I just noticed this today and was actually a bit confused. What's annoying though is that Google doesn't show you the image sizes anymore. That's also relatively recent.
