Technically AMD could still make ARM[1] or RISC-V based CPUs under a new owner. [1] https://www.trustedreviews.com/news/amd-reveals-its-ready-to...

To be fair, as I've learnt, the iPhone has more than 50% market share in the USA. Which is relevant given that this is a discussion about HNers, who I assume most of which live there.

There's a lot to be admired by Far Cry 2: the environmental mechanics, the introduction, the lighting effects, the gritty and exotic atmosphere... but to me it was not a fun game. Not in the way that Far Cry 1 was fun.

That’s true. But it was also Apple who kept calling it a “post PC” device. Which at face value always sounded like it aimed to replace a PC.

This. Vendors skimp on cache size because of overall cost. But cache size is just as critical as CPU core when it comes to performance. Apple doesn't sell chips to anyone else, so they have no pressure to have small caches.

Agree with most points. However, Safari does have extensions and it has all the ones I need. The pace of development on iPadOS has been pretty sad, but I'm interested in the USB-C thunderbolt support so you can use the iPad with any ex
