   To answer your question. My original thinking in setting aside $50k was to expose myself to "positive black swans." I'm looking to place a series of improbable bets such that if one pays off in a major way... I do like the idea of investing

   Thanks for the responses. I appreciate the feedback. The discussion here gave me a few ideas. Perhaps if anyone is interested, I'll do a blog post within the next few months explaining what opportunities I chose to pursue and why.
