I think it's fair to say that innovating a play style is on the whole innovative. Sure, the fact that they're not that risk-averse is true, but they do put a solid effort in redefining how we traditionally think of game systems.

Is "were" supposed to be "we're"? If it is, who's "we"? Not all startups pay "quite well" and there are varying levels of risk employees take. Some are certainly more extreme than others.
