Sure. But back then there was no "cloud" either. AWS alone is ramping up on AMD offerings. There's an AMD counterpart for almost every instance type today (suffixed by "a"). I think the world is a lot more ready to

That sounds great! I have a workflow that uses a network mounted HFS+ image for Time Machine backups that are then backed up to my GDrive. Anything to reduce the incremental backup size would help this.

I'm not sure I got this from the article but what exactly is the advantage of using APFS over HFS+ for Time Machine? The only advantage that was highlighted was per file encryption which seems to be an exclusive to the Apple Silicon Ma

Well, I did build a hackintosh and the parts you claim need to be fixed are exactly the parts I claim are not spent wisely on. You're paying for compatibility not performance. I mean the AMD offerings are no where near Nvidia, particul

You generally build a hackintosh machine with parts that are most compatible with MacOS and not necessarily the best bang for buck. So, I agree with the argument from the article here. If ARM makes the build obsolete, then all you now have

I can vouch for this too. I have a nightly cron job that uses rclone to sync my Apple Time Machine disk to Google Drive and I have yet to see it fail. Particularly, the Time Machine disk is a bunch of tiny (8 MB) files.

I think Erlang's pattern matching alone is a strong point for Erlang. Makes a generic server-client protocol parsing very trivial to implement. Eg: https://bravenewmethod.com/2011/02/22/socket-binary-data
