What we need is some sort of voluntary rating system for ads. Tag the massively annoying (sounds, movement etc) or horribly disgusting (rotting teeth etc) ones as such and I'll happily use adblock software that only blocks those. It could k

So you can refuse to go do it if you are randomly selected and you just forfeit your flight. How exactly does that add any protection against anything? Potential hijackers can't just buy another plain ticket?

I'm not sure that's it. I've down voted some of your comments because they just seem to ooze insensibility and really have you coming across like an almighty bell-end. I don't know you apart from a few comments of yours I've seen here on HN

Very confusing, needs something telling me what to do! Us technical types can probably work it out but what about non-technical people? Not a chance I'd say. Also, the "You should upgrade here" bubble just takes me to PayPal to give you $2.

In some countries there isn't a legal concept of public domain. I don't know much more than that but I think Germany may be one of them.

The RepRap (and indeed the whole concept of 3D printers) is awesome and exciting and I think has the potential to make a huge difference to the world. However, they really need to stop describing it as "self-replicating". It's only self rep

But probably still capped at 2GB/day before 8pm. If you go over that amount before 8 they throttle down to something very slow for 5 hours (even if you just went over at 7:59 PM, how does that make sense?)

Yes, the DMCA does suck quite a huge amount. But is the DMCA the main thing stopping you from disassembling and reassembling gas pumps before you use them? I'm guessing probably not.
