I'm not convinced that a brute force solver that doesn't find the optimum path and which actually requires the recursion limit to be raised to execute on large mazes without exception (!!) is the best demonstration of Python. This should be

That just strikes me as being a bit of a dick. Of course it's up to you what you do on your own sites but still. What about the people (like the one mentioned in this article) who would need to pay for a new computer to be able to upgrade?

Most of what the article shows is stuff that works with images turned off. In fact the first technique they show is specifically for that case.

Pardon me, that answer was for 'The Last Question' (also a truly awesome short story). I'm sure I read this one in one of his collections but I don't remember which and Wikipedia is no help in this case.

I'm not sure I get what this does that a folder of bookmarks doesn't? Or one of the online bookmark services if you don't want to be tied to a specific machine. I assume it does something more but I just can't figure out what...

Seriously, how is it possible that anyone finds interesting a page written by Zuckerberg when he was 16? What possible interest could this have to anyone?

From the article it sounds like better devices are available, it's just that they cost a lot of money ($100/day rental, it says) and need electricity to run. For this reason it might never be considered ethical to test it in a richer countr

Your definition is slightly wrong. In Alan Turing's own words: It is possible to invent a single machine which can be used to compute any computable sequence. If this machine I is supplied with a tape on the beginning of which

It sounds like you maybe played games too much (forgive me if I'm wrong there, obviously your one comment is not enough to know that). I don't think there's anything wrong with recreation for its own sake and games are a form of recreation.

I'm quite prepared to read something when someone I know recomends it or when someone I don't recomends it and gives reasons. But there are a whole load of choices out there so I see no reason why I'd pick this one. 30 pages isn't long but

There are many many free and legal books available, so it's not especially interesting to point to just one. What's interesting is to know which of them are worth reading (and, preferably, why).

What this really needs is a way of performing git operations on the files in the iBuffer, then it would be a nice replacement for the various git modes for emacs.

Bloggers often seem to have this attitude that having a blog is a great thing that everyone should aspire to. They then go on to think of reasons why the "average man" doesn't have a blog. Things like "Lack of time" and "Lack technical abil
