State of the art tools will soon be even better at being generalists and handling abstraction than at coding. Even GPT 4 could do a better job planning a project than implementing it. The main bottleneck is context, which all of the big com

The latest tools will walk any monkey through the process of planning out and thinking through whatever they're supposed to be doing, and will then write the documentation for it. The bar is likely to go down, actually.

Yep. Scummy, even for Microsoft. Too bad their EULA blocks class action. They were selling it until October 2021, so it's not some ancient system. By building a time bomb into it, they misrepresented what was effectively a $50/yea

This shouldn't be legal. The software was clearly marketed as a classic fixed-in-time release, like the old CD releases, that would not be updated but would work indefinitely. Now they're going to boldly revoke the licenses???

(6) isn't correct. Left alone, everyone rational would pick red because it's the only logical option. You trying to convince them otherwise might end up getting 49% of the population killed. You should try to get everyone to pick

There's a lot of space between web dev and medical equipment. I've never met a user that loved how often their work was lost or how long it took to implement feature requests amid all the ship-it-quick duct tape.

Pre-LLM, it was much easier for reviewers to discern that. Now, the AI-generated code can look like it was well thought out by somebody competent, when it wasn't.

This attitude is acceptable for principal engineers, but anyone lower in the chain with this perspective typically presides over a product that is constantly breaking due to hundreds of unhandled edge cases, AI or not.
