He covers the personal bit but the difficult question for me would be the practical bit. I wouldn’t be able to pay for a lot of things (apps only), would be really hard to know when the train comes (time tables aren’t on posters any more).

I think a large part were just ”no” to anything. Few I imagine were against right hand traffic but many simply resisted change. Only just half of voters voted, however.

Having a non-binding referendum and moving against the 85% vote takes balls. And we're forever greatful that they did. Presumably people thought it would be inconvenient and voted no, while politicians realized the cost of doing it lat

I'm guessing that selling OS:es to consumers isn't making a ton of money. Most would come as OEM for a small Windows tax on a new computer. The money is in AppStores, OneDrive subscriptions, Office 356 subs and so on. And letting

Is the executable updated before each run, and not merely the data (definitions/patterns) used? Because running as root, being closed source, and updating the virus definitions daily wouldn't be surprising.

Ok. Weird that there is such a lot of talk about the 30yr mortgages if no one has them. I'd also be completely unable to afford the deposit for the home I own now (£500k loans at 80% LTV or so). The key was of course buying a small fla

Why are 30yr fixed rate mortgages 7% and up so massively from just a few years ago? Shouldn't the interest on the mortgage be about the expectation of average interbank rates for the coming years, plus some margin? Sure interest rates

Try making a 200 line chunk of boilerplate for something mundane like a big table in a react page. This is where it saves you googling parameters and doing copy paste. And you don’t need to trust it just test it after it’s done.

I don't think that's a useful definition. Laws may require employers from negotiating everything from working hours to safety with unions. Some countries have laws that require unions have voting power in company boards etc.

Making it hints instead of a 16x16 raster could save some weight. But 16x16 isn't a lot of data. Saving half of it but having to do the kind of magic trickery that goes on in TrueType seems a bit excessive

The thing is that at 16x16 target res it's probably not worth having another vector representation: you can just as well store the raster at that resolution.
