Seems odd, even with the interesting conditions (no hot water or no electricity in some rooms), that with demand allegedly so high the "rents" are still so low.

Not really, they still make money from someone if they've had a mortgage for a minimum period. They're still making the interest every month until it is paid back, even early. If someone pays back money early then it means they ca

Excellent, thank you. I shall ignore the fact that there will be other sized grids that are looking for solutions. Still, it's always interesting to see if one can develop something to come up with one's own solution.

True, but having every structure aligned to exactly the same offset into each page is extremely unlikely. Given a page size of 4KB then a whole bunch of 32 byte structures aligned in such a way would represent a huge waste of memory. No san

You can always write your own incremental allocator to provide word aligned (or whatever alignment) blocks of memory (from a large block of memory you obtain via a usual malloc() call) for the individual structures such that their page offs

No, you can prevent unbounded growth by using a pre-allocated cyclic buffer and just write into that. We have prototypes of this in our software (but not production code yet) with buffers that default to 50MB. That gives a nice amount of de
