I'm liking the interface, they even include IPA transcriptions! I bet this will get most online and many offline dictionaries out of business.

It's not specific to Ubuntu, any recent version of GNOME will do.

I don't remember the last time I used a vertical scroll bar - for me it's always the mouse wheel (on the desktop) or the right edge of the touchpad (on the laptop).

You can replace Mod-X with a key sequence, for example C-m X. I blogged about it here: http://versia.com/2009/10/18/xmonad-metacity-gnome/

AFAIK, copying to the clipboard requires embedding an swf file. I might do this, thanks for the suggestion!

Thanks Peter. As I mentioned earlier, javascript solutions work great but have two major limitations: not all hosting providers allow embeddable js; and javascripted highlighting doesn't work too well in rss readers.

I guess most people will just copy/paste their snippets. Changing standard key shortcuts just doesn't feel right to me. Thanks anyway!

I'm using the Pygments library, I will keep it updated so that all new languages are supported by the app. You can even write your own lexer, it will be greatly appreciated by all Pygments users: http://pygments.org/docs/lexerdevelopment/

SyntaxHighlighter is great, no doubt here. It has its pros which you listed, and a couple of cons: * It requires to link to a js script which is not always possible. * It doesn't work in many rss readers.
