I don't remember the last time I used a vertical scroll bar - for me it's always the mouse wheel (on the desktop) or the right edge of the touchpad (on the laptop).
- dpcan 17y agoI think the default for most mouse wheels is about 3 lines of vertical movement at a time. When you need to jump down 3 pages to the comments, or to a deeper page in a document, most people don't wheel down 3 lines at a time, they grab the scroll bar and zip to the bottom of the page.
- ashishbharthi 17y agoI agree with you. With modern computers scrollbars are only to get sense of the length of the document.
- roundsquare 17y agoNot at all true. Lots of people click, hold and move the mouse as they read. Especially on laptops. I, for one, hate that scrolling is achieved by moving my finger to the right of my touch pad and therefore tend to scroll by clicking on the window and using the up and down keys. (Overall, I love the mac method of using two fingers to scroll). Edit: Made more clear.
