It's a poorly translated word written in a haste. A better translation would be "red neck" (I think?). This is translated from my inner Swedish thoughts and we don't have Californian wokeness here (especially not down he

Yeah a "farmer" is not a literal farmer. It's slang for uneducated people aka peasants.

This. 1970s programming was like 2020s quantum computing. It was an elite's task. That's my message here.

You find what you look for. If you look for humble posts they are there to be found. But you don't want to, so you won't find them.

That's why the library ships prebuilt binaries with no dependencies at all. No compiler is even needed.

I've been a swimmer for 15 years and I had to get used to floating boogers and used band aids and I can just imagine how much dingleberry I have swallowed over time!

That's a good title. Golang is referenced many times in the text though, it's even plotted in the two graphs.

Node.js is very popular and some companies with lots of I/O still prefer JavaScript, they have their business logic written in it.

I thought you said you had assessed the _whole_ article as bad? You didn't read past the ingress, the motivation of the work done.

Please note my original title was "I'm developing a new and faster MQTT broker". HackerNews changed it and I cannot edit. Point being (a) I do not even know the naming is final, (b) this is in no way a finished product, it is

I'm sorry but HackerNews thinks they know better so they mod the title into something misleading. Original title was "I'm developing a new and faster MQTT broker" with extra focus on "developing". It is a 7 day

We can have a big bench-off with more brokers later on. I have tested maybe 6 and from this I have decided to write my own. I wouldn't spend time reinventing the wheel for free if I didn't have a reason for it :) Then you also ha

I have in fact tested RabbitMQ but it was not at all impressive. The two fastest brokers I have found are emqtt and Mosquitto, both good at either large or small broadcasts but not both. Edit: yes they are qos 0 (just like Redis)
