Anyone not familiar with this, do go to the link and check out the Control Room. Beautifully retro-futuristic, looks like a '70s sci-fi film set, but they were actually using the thing.

Really interesting! Thank you both. I would love to know what a 'typical day' and the general working environment are like. (A vague question, I know, but sort-of on purpose.)

Okay, so a Chrome Extension that interrupts the user at the checkout stage when buying luxury items? The interruption could range from a simple nag screen, to an enforced cooling-off period before you can proceed with the purchase. Perhaps

That would be sadly similar to Black Arrow 'R3' in 1971, Britain's first and only successful orbital launch. After that we abandoned the project, the only country to do so after such an achievement.

I think that's what Mobileye sell to Tesla. Per comments on Twitter[1] (and the fact that they fit a radar) the car's combining output from the Mobileye unit with the other sensors when decision making. 1. https://twitt

I don't think the weight of the glass is the main problem here. (Though obviously plastic will be lighter and easier to transport.) Where do you mount this contraption? Solar PV is light enough for any roof - otherwise wasted space. Yo

No, partycoder is educating is educating varadg on the correct site etiquette; the 'upvote' button should be used in place of 'I agree!' or 'This!' type comments.

Absolutely. I recommend GP reads some Thomas Hardy to get a sense of what you mean. Back before the industrial revolution the lower classes would work 'enough' to sustain themselves.

I'm as incredulous as the next person that a mostly self-driving car will be available by 2017-8 and that this will be it. That said, on the way to full autonomy I can foresee a car that can handle 99% of the driving itself but calls o

I've no idea why this has been downvoted as it's correct. For the last few years this has been written into law and employees don't get their full employment rights (such as the right to contest an unfair dismissal) until you

This is already happening, at least in the UK. I don't have the numbers but leasing is being pushed heavily by advertisers and is becoming the normal way for people to get hold of a new car who mightn't otherwise.

If the bus is full, I'm sure you're correct. I think there will always be place for mass transit along popular routes. In the UK there are a lot of buses that drive around with only a handful of passengers. It's a subsidised
