The idea that data is remotely as valuable as one of the highest energy density power sources known to man (at least that can be safely handled and conveniently used) is utterly bizarre and shows how much of a bubble the tech world has beco

Given many tech workers can work remotely it seems bizarre that we even need to live in city centres. But alas, businesses still want everyone in the office (often all the time as well).

As someone from Europe - I find it really weird they just seem to treat racial and economic classes as more or less interchangeable. It's as if white==wealthy and black==poor - is the situation still so dire in the USA?

No, for several reasons. The main one is that I don't really see the need for such a large screen and it will likely be less convenient to carry in my pocket and hold in my hand. Then there is the expensive price tag which, given I liv

The high-quality of dubs and subs is one of the reasons I still have a Netflix subscription. I live in Spain and my SO doesn't speak English - Netflix allows us to watch content dubbed in Spanish and equally there is a lot of natural S

How are people supposed to do this unless they are unemployed? Don't probation periods already exist?

Yeah - but the argument is that we don't have the tech because there is no point investing in the research when you can get a load of cheap labour to do it the work instead.

For me, civilisation collapse is like the Bronze Age Collapse when multiple civilisations fall due to a multitude of factors. Not just a big empire fading away.

I think this makes sense - in that it is better to target unearned income than earned income (in fact it seems bizarre that unearned income is taxed at a lower rate..) However, it seems that capital gains tax would be easier to avoid in the

I nearly always buy from Amazon though. I bought from some other online retailers and had bad experiences (stuff taking ages to arrive, customs fees, bad returns policy etc.) Plus you get Amazon Music and Amazon Video too - I never use them

I read The Origin of Species - it is a surprisingly readable book and I like the English it uses, words like incipient etc. that you don't hear often. That said, the chapters on pigeon fancying were rather dull.

This is the real issue. Getting data is always expensive in any field so it's much easier to analyse data that already exists as you don't need a large grant application. Furthermore, I think the use of certain ML techniques may b

As someone working in DS for the last 4 years this is pretty accurate. If you have a good academic background it can be possible to enter a DS role immediately but often you will be doing work far more towards the Business Intelligence end
