They help against phishing and password theft, as it requires a physical item in addition to the password. Doesn't matter much if someone downloads a Word doc with macros and runs it.

This is not an advertisement. I would never consider someone talking about a Discord bot to be talking about an official bot released from Discord. It is incredibly common for users to write bots on these platforms.

The counter point to this is DARPA and the dearth of private research going on currently.

I have a rough enough idea of how much image hosting costs. If they want to charge more than a dollar per month I will write a competitor.

Retailers stopped stocking when things shut down. An example is rental car companies selling off parts of their fleets. Now that things are opening back, they are anticipating demand and attempting to meet it.

I've seen an argument that we have reached the end of benefit from being the global reserve currency and that the US dollar should weaken to balance out trade. We have been a net importer (of goods) for so long, the upper class has rea

That's pretty interesting. I wonder how an increase in domestic spending balances against all the printing we did during COVID. It decreases demand for foreign currencies (for foreign purchases) which would strengthen the dollar relati

The form of those assets absolutely matters. Bonds right now? Bad idea. Cash when we hit the inflation part of the long term debt cycle? Also bad idea.

Based around what economy though? Towns need an industry. Many are just remnants of old mining towns. A lot where the hospital is the largest employer are surviving on elderly health care. I think that's the biggest challenge to spawni

There is a ton of money exiting the bond market looking for yield, this is driving up stocks reducing earnings. Probably a lot of people exiting their previous investments looking for places to park their cash. I'm in this boat.

First quote isn't exact, so I'm not sure what you're addressing. If you buy properties not for self use, you can hold them indefinitely and have an income stream. If you buy a share of a company and hold it indefinitely you c

Comparing cryptocurrency to real estate is laughable. With real estate you have either a place to live, reducing a real world expense (rent), or an income producing property. No matter how much you dress up cryptocurrencies as stocks, by us
