Oh yeah I agree. I was using “If we win the war on Ads” much like “If we achieve world peace”. Unlikely to the point of impossibility. Liability for malware distribution was something I haven’t seen proposed before but totally makes sense

I have a bit of a different take on this. If we win the war against Ads lots of content won’t get made. But, the content that thrives in an Ad driven world is mostly toxic rage bait. I would argue that losing this content and instead only

Its far more likely that Microsoft is just trying to salvage their investment in the most direct way possible. It doesn’t make sense for them to take this risk absent recent events. They tried pressuring the board according to the rumors o

For the team I am on maintaining virtual office hours has really helped in this respect. One or more (but at least one) senior+ person just working/hanging out in a zoom call where others can drop in and talk about whatever. With remo

Musk is failing into the fallacy that free speech means freedom from judgement. He is so self obsessed that he doesn’t see that others are simply exercising their freedom of speech by way of disassociation from him and his businesses. It’s

Hell No. Code reviews have nothing to do with “trust”. It is another pair of eyes proof reading your code and providing at least a sanity check of the logic. Think of this way. When you were in college you wouldn’t turn in an important pap

Fairly certain horse rentals were a thing. Might be a bit of a stretch but post houses would fit the bill [0]. So, this lets us go back to the 2nd century BC. Just need to find some data on renter behavior now. [0] https://en.

Consider that normally rental car companies get steep discounts on their bulk buys. They didn’t with their Tesla order which further hurts them. But, here is the overly simplified normal math: (Resale Price + Rental Income - Maintenance -

Western Union surprisingly gives the blue dollar rate here in Argentina so if you have access to a foreign bank account that is a decent way to do it. From what I can tell it tracks pretty closely to the rates on the “dólar hoy” website.
