According to the link below there are 529 accidents per 100 million miles driven for people aged 20-29. That is a bit better than 99.999% reliable. Self driving needs to get down to 1 intervention in 200k miles to match the average 20 year

The hardware sales I was talking about is their streaming box which is in no way dominant but is really nice. Also we have pretty much reached peak iPhone or close to it. These subscription services help keep people in the ecosystem as it

I don’t see how it would be any different for US taxes. When publicly traded stock vests you are taxed on value of the stock at that time as income. So, it is treated the same as if you received it as cash compensation for tax purposes. I

Apple can afford to play the long game here though. TV+ is nice value add on their bundled subscription package so may be driving more people to opt for that. I know it was a major factor in my decision and now I am playing Apple Arcade ga

That is what I am saying above. Full liability for the data stored and shared with others. Transitive liability would need to be a new law though as I don’t believe that currently exists. EDIT: forgot to mention consumers don’t need to ca

Full liability for secondary harms caused by the leak of data that wasn’t directly required to provide a service to those same end users. Selling of data to third parties doesn’t transfer this liability but expands it to include any leaks

I have been lucky enough to have been the youngest person on every team until my mid 30s. I worked with some truly gifted engineers, who had almost no ego, over the course of my career they just were much older than me. When I reflect I do

I said hybrid war. The US/EU is definitely in a proxy fight with Russia in Ukraine. Russia is definitely running disinformation campaigns and funneling money across the US and EU to try and tilt elections to their far right allies.

NATO didn’t decide to expand. Countries scared of Russian aggression have been clamoring to join. Russia invaded Georgia and Ukraine twice. They managed to get Sweden and Finland to join up thereby expanding their border with NATO by 1340

It’s not about morals. Russia and China are waging a hybrid war with the US/EU at the moment. Any US or European company absolutely should not trust a Russian or Chinese company at the moment. Especially not for antivirus. Just like

Death road on a mountain bike isn’t all that dangerous. It got its name because it used to be the only route to and from Brasil. So you would get 2 way traffic of like box trucks on a smallish dirt road with a sheer cliff drop off on one

Thanks for the heads up. 3 year lifespan isn’t a deal breaker for me. But ghosting of mouse cursor and refresh rate might be for existing options. Still researching but the parent post’s tech seems to solve the ghosting and refresh rate i

Yeah I try to use “service oriented architecture” in discussions because it implies as small as necessary instead of as small as possible. I find it reframes the discussion a bit and encourages a better set of initial domain boundaries. Wh

Oh yeah I agree. That is why I put in their “be as disciplined as you can be along the way”. If it never ships what’s the point; but if you ship something that has to be rewritten right away it’s almost as bad.

I have an M1 MacBook Pro. But, it is centrally managed, provisioned, monitored, …etc. It isn’t that it is Android. It is that they would have to sort out all of those things on this Android tablet for just me. So, it is that it isn’t the

From the article it claims charge speed 10x that of lithium and 50,000 cycle lifetime. I don’t know about you but a EV that can go 150 miles and charge to 80% again in 2min would be super compelling to me. Solid commuter car but not too an
