Disregarding the fact that Snopes is a very disreputable organization (e.g. there's a reason Facebook fired them as fact-checkers), your reference doesn't even back up what you say. Is it possible you're the one engaging in c

Wow, I'm surprised their advertising revenue was so little ($6k/month), considering how aggressive it got near the end. A large part of the reason I pivoted away from 8tracks was the aggressive advertising. Sad to see it was all f

Is having an unnecessary API really better architecture though? It adds quite a bit of complexity and there are other ways to address separation of concerns.

That's actually brilliant. If you're ever looking for something to write about for a new blog post, I would love to learn more about how you implemented that estimate_count function. Thanks for the tip in the right direction tho!

It's true I never told Windows my working hours, but I would shut down mostly nightly and it'd still happen. I just find it to be incredibly user-hostile to force updates in the middle of a session, starts to feel a bit more like

Switch over to Linux Mint, it’s the spiritual successor to Windows 7 (same look and feel), but it’s also Linux which is phenomenal. Windows 7 used to be all I used, because all the latest windows versions take away too much control of my co

I remember reading your article on FTS in postgres, great stuff. Was wondering what strategies you might be using to perform counts on your data? I'm trying to implement a faceted search in postgres and currently using window functions
