Working on it so you don't have to ! You'll enjoy comfy stuff like let s = "string.." s += "handled" The runtime Buffer type is already operational ( https://github.com/alcover/buff

for (let i = 0; i <= i; i++); // hmm If canBeRegex is smart enough to parse `return s.length === 3;` it could also detect the for-loop has no side-effect and skip it..

No, they would know by the angle of your eyes if you were staring that low. Looking intensely at someone's lips is at times the prelude to a kiss. I think this ambiguity makes them uncomfortable.

Could it be the deluge of televised fear-inducing content ? A great deal anxiety feeds on this distorted view of "what's happening". But go and have a walk. What do you see "happening" ? nothing.

I love writing hardcore C code full or pointers and cross-calls but for some reason I can't get bothered with semi-advanced Git. There's a dread, a fatigue... I got burned merging (or was it rebasing?) and now I often just copy

> "Siri turn off lights in the living room" No snark here : why don't you make a few steps and switch them off manually ? Saving these few steps doesn't make sense to me. You need to walk to be healthy.

- Is 1.2.3 > 1.2.3omega? No - Is 1.2.3 > 1.2.3beta? No - Is 1.2.3gamma > 1.2.3? Yes I don't see ambiguity in your examples.

Alas, a formula for what you suggest (called fixed polyominoes) seems also out of reach.

Thanks for the link. we obtain 4.00253176 as a certified lower bound How intringing it's strictly just above 4 ! Maybe it has to do with symmetries. The proportion of symmetric polys in successive generations goes towards zero.

Polyominoes have been obsessing me. Not tiling but counting them. No formula has been yet found. Their free numbers (i.e up to rotations and flipping) go 1, 1, 2, 5, 12, 35, 108, 369, 1285, ... Meaning for ex. there are 5 tetromino

Let me stay upright. 15M seems a lot. What's in there ? High-def country flags for Retina ? edit: ok, size is ~4.5M on my Debian, of which transmission-gtk accounts for 3.6. Maybe graph libs are bigger on mac ?

I would. I already use FF mainly under a locked-down profile for mere reading. (I use another profile for madatory interactive sites like banking and stuff). Others like me would. And resource-constrained devices. An eco-system of low-tech

Forgive my pedantry but the ecosystem is not the language. Nor is practice. Ad absurdum, you could include the hardware pythonists usually employ. If you use python as glue, it should be compared to other languages used as glue.

it wants to implement all of JS ES6 why not. But the whole Web API is crazy. Bluetooth ? Barcode ? Geolocation ? What the hell. Let's go back to a documents web. Also small JS engines already exist, like QuickJS.

I've been using Firefox forever but the problem is - it's now too big. Because it's - like you mention - following Chrome. To stay relevant, FF implements all the bloat Chrome churns out. Even worse, it's tempted to foll

So.. Chrome is too big to fork. Then why don't we make a bare-bones OSS no-DRM browser with only a subset of JS and CSS and promote at the same time an old-school webring of 'virtous' websites. If it catches on (and it could
