I probably should have mentioned this in the text. I previously had an issue somewhat close to this one. Someone published an app named "<appname> - <some keywords>" while I already had published "<appname>". I email

Title and project name are misleading. This identifier is not unique per device, but unique per device+bundle identifier. This means different applications on the same device will generate different identifiers. Please, stop upvoting withou

I made an iOS application for reading comics in literally 6 hours. I released it back in May and it's currently earning me ~$1000 a month via ads. Impressions are still increasing by ~25K each day, so profits are likely to increase in the c

I'm the developer of an RSS reader for iOS/Mac which might satisfy your needs (some of my users told me they migrated from Reeder/Byline to my app). My email is in my profile, drop me a line and I'll send you a promo code.

I have an app, called Printful, which kind of merges Instapaper and Reeder. Email me if you're interested in trying it, I'll send you a promo code as soon as the next release is approved.

Printful merges multipage articles into a single article. I don't have any promo codes right now, but email me and I'll send you one as soon as the next release is approved.

Most JSON frameworks are faster than binary plists on iOS. I learned it the hard way, after spending a day writing a Python module for the server side and doing some tests. However, binary plists were around 5% smaller, so they might help i

Very interesting article, but I don't think that would apply to the App Store. Selling more copies increases your rankings, which in turn helps you get more exposure and more sales. That's not applicable to the website which offers a servic

That's a good point. I already have a $0.99 iPhone-only version. The "full" version which is priced a $2.99 supports both iPhone and iPad. However, the $0.99 version sells really badly. Around 5% of the full version. I'd say it's because re

That sounds like a good idea, I'll add that right now. In fact, some of those features are already available if you enable them using the website, but they aren't exposed in the app's UI.

Not exactly an app for Hacker News, but Printful (iPhone and iPad) includes support for multiple news aggregators, and HN is included. This is how I've been reading HN for some weeks: http://imgur.com/a/OeAwD Disclaimer: I'm the developer

Since I don't use SF these days, I'm not resetting my password. If they can't properly protect my password, I'm not giving them a new one.

I'm using lxml with a bit of C for the scrapper behind Printful. My algorithm is way more complex than Readability and I can still parse web pages really fast. For example, parsing a long article from NYTimes on a really old machine: fiam@r

I don't see every pirate copy as lost sale, I know most of them won't buy the application even for $0.01. The problem is the server resources they consume. If I just ignore the pirates and the legit/pirate users ratio continues to be the sa
