<snip> I'm going to guess that the common theme here is that we're all forwarding port 9100 or 631 to our printer to allow ourselves to print from outside the network, which sets up an HTTP server at that address open to the interne

It really sucks that we have to go to such lengths to make the services we use that are "secured to industry standards" un-hackable. I die a little inside every time some site emails me my own password.

I really love this sort of thing. It shows to me that apps are dying and soon everything will be HTML/CSS and cross device. Well done!

I am so sick of this kind of talk. What language do you like to code in? Really? That's great. Now shut up and go code in it. What difference does it make to you that I use PHP, Ruby or original ASP? My website achieves the result I desire.

I am on PHPFog for my front-end and with an AWS RDS back-end. I managed to survive this incident without an outage (I am on U.S East as well), although I did get some horrendous response times from RDS for about an hour there. PHPFog are on

I barely noticed any difference. My personal laptop, work PC and iPad are trusted devices, so I only need to enter the code every 30 days (or when I clear my cookies). I only really need to enter a code when using a different pc such as a

What's so bad about being a cog? I work 9-5 for a large company (100,000+ employees). I clock on each day, they pay me a great daily rate and I enjoy the work that I do. Work doesn't define who I am and I am definitely not unfulfilled. I t
