The Bay Area is also home to MIDI co-inventor Dave Smith and his hardware synth company Sequential. You can see his office and generous collection of synths from the street, if you roam around San Francisco's North Beach long enough.

I'm at the WeWork in downtown, used to work at the CTRL Collective nearby before it got closed. Any advice? My WeWork is OK, but I'm always looking for a better deal.

I was just going to say, I've always had a good experience with Boa systems on snowboarding boots, even though people claim they break regularly. Surprised they didn't get adopted by the sneaker industry. I'm guessing it'

We are not a paid user. I believe that's around 200k a year? That's a good point, I haven't looked into paid vs unpaid functionality when it comes to data export yet.

We've actually been trying to figure out the best path for this. We have most of our data in Periscope (we're on the Redshift version of it) and we also use GA and it would be great to be able to have everything in one place. Seem

Good thought, but that's not my case, fortunately. Most of my life revolves around a computer: 10-12 hours of work, photo editing, music production, Netflix, gaming etc.

Fasting is not something most people are familiar with, so it comes off as scary and extreme to most people who are just starting out. Yours is definitely one of the most common reactions people doing it run into. Assuming no pre-existing c

I guess I can't see how being in bed + on a chair for 23 hours a day can be considered anything but heavily sedentary. Yes, it's not 100%, if we want to nitpick.

I usually go for 48-72 hour water fasts, IF has never done anything for me for some reason. Haven't tried much beyond 80 hours or so, mostly because I get bored of it. https://www.amazon.com/Complete-Guide-Fasting-Inter

As a 100% sedentary person (I sit for maybe 14-15 hours a day) I've had pretty good results with a combination of: * 6 days of gym (4 lifting, 2 HIIT + cardio for 40 min) * 2-3 days of water fasting every week, sometimes every other we

Correct, you'd have to instruct your pools to resize as machines are added and removed. We haven't had to do that so far, as we're not that dramatically elastic.

We were big proponents of pgbouncer for years, but having one extra, sometimes capricious actor in our architecture ended up not being worth it. Especially if you're IO-heavy like we are, and that Web App -> DB pipe is the hottest p

Was fortunate to meet Jeff Tunnell a few years back at PAX West, shockingly humble guy for someone whose work was a huge part of my childhood. It was inspiring to see someone stick to that indie development mindset after all those years.

The CMU part-time remote MS in Software Engineering was great, definitely extra worth it if you have your company pay for it. Not sure if they still offer it, they might have shut down the Moffett Field version of the program.

This exactly. Hard to grasp how much this kind of offering helps until you've had to single handedly do IT for a medium sized (or larger) org that uses a SaaS product for every distinct need.
