I'm new to programming in the last few years, so please excuse my ignorance here. When I hear/read the word "ergonomics", I think of proper posture and hand/head/eye position when you're working on a compu

It's going to kill morale if you keep that guy around. If they're talking to you that much about him, there's probably a lot more they're talking about that you never hear. Fit goes further than skill, in my opinion. If

I wonder if this means that virtualization will be impossible without some sort of emulation layer. If so, that seriously blows.

https://mailinabox.email I generally recommend against administering your own email server, but this may be a good idea for you. I use this for one of my own domains. I have it hosted on a Digital Ocean droplet. They take a lot

My take? Skip business school. You can learn nearly everything a biz track would give you by reading "The Personal MBA" by Josh Kaufman. I admit it. I'm an outlier here. Unless you're going to be a doctor/lawyer

I had a full-time job, and my side gig was only 10 hours per week that I was doing in addition to my FT job. Then I went full-time as a contractor for my side gig.

Love it. Initially, I was thinking that it wouldn't be as sturdy a build as the ThinkPad W530, but it's been great.

With all due respect, this doesn't seem like the best advice. Part of the appeal of Hashicorp tools (terraform, and also vagrant and others) is that they are platform-agnostic. The tagline even says "ONE SAFE WORKFLOW ACROSS PROVI

Yes, absolutely. I've had Chrome tabs take an inordinate amount of RAM and CPU and make the fans spin up. Enough so that other things were slow.

Another implied solution perhaps... don't use so many tabs? (I promise you, I'm speaking to myself as I say that. I use way too many, myself)

I wanted to solve this very problem, and use !iTunes to play audio files on the Mac. First, I went with VLC. It's quite capable. It turns out there's a native Mac app called 'afplay' and it'll do the trick as well.

The project I'm working on currently, it's 95% Chef. The remainder is Ansible. We use Ansible for what it's good at, and Chef for the rest.

Everyone is average, at some point. Some folks forget that. The key is, to "human" well, and work to improve your life. Small bits at a time. This goes for vocation, as well as character. Don't be content to remain average.

Call me crazy, but as I've progressed in my career, I learned to be very wary of HR. It became evident to me that while there are multiple things they do, the primary purpose is to shield the company from liability. Not to help you, as
