No bad. I don't want those iritating headphone wires. Also a phone that doesn't mind being dropped in water, so no headphone jack please. Notch is not really an issue, front facing camera is useful for video-calls. And i don'

Seems like something they can already do with Odata v4. You can provide excel (and powerbi) compatible json payload.

I'd say that in an ideal situation low-code is a visual DSL that lets you declare in business terms what you expect the application to do. Kinda like pseudo code that you would expect from a business analyst, that only defines what bus

It doesn't have to be a huge crumbling pile of debt. It's just a tool that can be used to create useful applications if used in the right way. I think of it as a visual IDE to build opinionated apps, i.e., visual ruby on rails or

Actually it is. Most of the low-code vendors simply visualize high level functions using some sort of BPMN visualization.

It's not all poor programming. There's a lot of repetition in software development. If you can find the right abstractions you can make software engineering a lot more efficient. This works, regardless if you visualize the abstrac

Ofcourse, that is how professional product organizations work. They define user personas and buyer personas, and then make sure they have a compelling story and features not only for the user personas, but also for the buyer personas. It&#x

Nice example of: always begin with the end in mind - first specify what data you want to see and then specify where it should come from. I think it helps you focus on the outcome required, and makes you more efficient deciding how to implem

Many databases are also used for executing dynamically generated SQL queries: ORM based, or BI/ETL generated queries. If you rely on hints too much, having good statistics is often neglected, and this will impact any query that cannot

Problem with databases is that they have the tendency to grow over time, so the statistics change all the time, and thus the optimal query plan.

I always assumed that an ideal query planner would be in the best position to decide what plan is best based if it had real-time access to up-to-date data statistics and available indexes. Adding hints might hinder performance improvements

Programmers don't build, they design. It's more akind to what building architects do in a cad program. They go through many iterations and changing specs.

Some corporations are evil: selling wapons to dictators, lying to your own employees (enron), deliberately making your product more addictive to sell more even if you know it destroys the health of your customers (sigarette companies).

Plant roots need to be able to grow deep enough to reach water. If the groundwater level is too deep they can’t reach it, and they won’t be able to grow at all.

Yes. How do you deal with hill climbing in product management? How do you know that a 10% improvement in outcomes is bad, and a different approach could have given you 50% or 100%? More experimentation, more 'how might we'? Google

The best way to tackle that specific problem i've found is by applying Geoffrey Moore's advice in crossing the chasm: slice the market in niches of customers. And then make sure you have the best possible solution for that niche.

There are many areas where preciseness is achieved through visual models. E.g., in architecture words will never replace the need for a visual representation of the building to be constructed. Some for 3d printing.
