Sure, and i also prefer carplay, rather than something provided by the car manufacturer. But Tesla shows that there are car companies that can build satisfactory entertainment software, which is not surprising as writing good software is so

There's a lot of software in a car besides the entertainment system, you can't leave that to carplay or android. To make good cars, car companies need to be able to write good software.

Forecast are usually for a larger area, 5x5 kilometers, or 10x10 kilometers. Even within this area, weather will not be the same everywhere, so they'll give a probability for the entire area. Windy.com lets you compare different models

The example in the article could easily be implemented in a view. Even if you have different type of rules, you could union multiple strategies based on rol into one overall view. Not sure how the presented approach improves on this.

Relationship between low wages and low productivity isn’t true, low wages are enabled by low costs of living. Cheaper employees can be more productive, and more expensive employees aren’t necessarily more productive. Or do you think every s

Funny how this is vision now. I started my career 29 years ago at a company that build exactly this, but based on oracle. The agents would run on Solaris, aix, vax vms, hpux, windows nt, iris, etc. Was also used to create an automated cicd

Globalization is exactly that, until there’s global equality of salaries. We’re seeing it at the moment where Chinese cars are taking over the market because they’re better priced than European or American alternatives. To compete they have

Prices are dictated by a global purchasing market. This means that salaries cannot grow because otherwise companies wouldn’t make profit, as they have to compete with products built by Chinese companies with much lower salaries.

I can see teens upset about it, but maybe instead of fighting fake nudes on the internet, we should teach teens to not care so much. As a child I went to a nudist camping in the summer with my parents, and at times it was difficult. I’d wal

Maybe we should just all flood the internet with fake pictures/videos of ourselves, faces on top of the most beautiful bodies that can be imagined. This way everyone seeing it will know it’s fake, and start to ignore it. I don’t really

Now you’re assuming that the group that would switch is bigger than the group that appreciates the tabs at the bottom. I doubt that the tabs at the bottom are the main reason people wouldn’t switch to KDE.

Yes, it would help if we would be more careful with our choices. But it would also be nice if politicians could be held accountable: if they say global warming is fake, and it turns out to be true, they should get some sort of penalty. Same

Oracle forms 3 on a terminal was actually a super nice tool: very fast way to edit database data, but you have to know all the keyboard shortcuts. Bit like Vi for database forms.

Not really, usually you have some translation to ensure data from different systems is aligned/translated into a unified format. It’s expensive and cumbersome to do this in every dependent downstream system over and over again. Especia

There’s always value in completing, but if you instead do something more valueable, and can explain it, it might be the opposite of a red flag. But the comment explicitly stated “dislike the content”.

Not completing something simply because you dislike it is a big red flag. At work you often have to finish stuff you don’t like, you don’t want employee that will start something but rely on others to finish it.
