   I am excited for this. I am working on desktop app and started with electron. Being a web developer and plenty of tested npm modules helpe me choose that. Midway decided to move to flutter because of all the memory usage and slowness

   Every major software company have big development center in India, Microsoft, Samsung, Google, IBM, Amazon. It is just wrong to say india just provide support. That was the case like 20 years back

   How so care to describe? Well i don't fully agree, you still have to learn react/JSX. But they still use the platform lot more than most other solutions(next, react, angular)

   India has tried same for desktop and failed miserably. I'm sure most of us haven't even heard about it. I'm more hopeful about electronics manufacturing

    Application does all the processing on client side. It is also an PWA so works totally even if you are offline.

    Technically that's possible, you can compile any C, Rust or Go Excel parcer and use that.

    Squoosh already had wasm files built, all i had to just import and create a common API. For now wasm can be compiled from C,C++, Rust and Go, so mostly compiled languages. https://emscripten.org/ can help compile C,C++, Rus

    I actually use wasm codecs built by squoosh team. Squoosh is freaking awesome. Resize to particular size idea came, when online service asked me to upload image upto 25KB. I had to just keep on changing size till image became 25KB.

    I probably messed up the title, I mean you need to be online to use webapp, but app won't sent any images to remote server for processing.

    I guess one may disable wifi+data if on mobile. Disconnect wifi of on Desktop, but agree with OP there is no good way to check if processing is actually happening locally.

    Images are not send to server, all processing is on client side. Server is required to download the webpage/wasm, but not to process files. In future planning to make the app available offline using service worker. So first time intern

    Yes, Imagemagick is great and I love it. But most people are not comfortable using CLI or someone may just not want to install it for one off conversion. Also webapp works on smartphones, tablets or anything with browser, while Imagemagick
