I’m paranoid about these things, and wouldn’t trust Google to stay in the email business for decades, and not lock me out.

You cannot show someone an image without them being easily able to copy it elsewhere. I don’t see much benefit to e2ee for this, and use Telegram (which everybody in my social circles uses anyway). Any chat app will work, and many are e2ee.

This setup mangles the standard Win+Space binding (keyboard layout switch) with Ulauncher, which doesn't give you that much over Gnome's native features. Standard Gnome shortcuts for workspace switching (Win+F1) and dash applicati

"We will run a secure messaging platform wherever governments protect security of messaging platforms." Very understandable, but not particularly interesting.

Apart from Synapse, server implementations are stuck in permanent beta. Clients outside mobile OSes are not interesting if you are considering Signal replacements. On mobile, you have element and maybe fluffychat. It is still a messaging th

Whether this proof is complete depends on what was known before. Was the lemma introduced by a teacher? was it not actually proven, and the student missed the hole in their proof? these are different teachable moments. I think the two facts

In the spirit of the posted proof, noting axial symmetry would be neater. (But then you need to know that parallelogram diagonals split each other in half, …)

Sure. The overall proof of Thales is then about as complicated as the “standard” one with two isosceles triangles.

Lockhart’s Lament is pretty well known in maths education circles. Calling it an “online article” is weird.

“Standard” Thales proof (via two isosceles triangles) is simpler than this.

Proving that a parallelogram with equal diagonals is a rectangle is an exercise in itself; I’d prove it through Thales’ theorem, myself... Also, Lockhart's Lament is from 2002, so this post probably needs a (2002). It is very unlikel

I'm doing well regarding my self-hosting. Question is not what I want, but who can best deliver this sort of service to a wide consumer base. This will produce no extra load for ISPs, will drive little additional complexity for users (

Cloudflare dynamic dns and cloudflare tunnels get you there. Of course, now you're relying on Cloudflare's free tier to continue to exist. I think that the right place to provide this is at ISP level, positioning as a beefier rout

MMS limitations are only relevant because Apple makes them relevant. I have never sent or received an MMS outside of the iMessage interoperability context. This is obviously deliberate. You can send whatever you want through SMS, as a link

The GP comment is about sending media between iPhone and Android, and claims that that is limited by MMS. That’s obviously not true. And has nothing to do with SMS/MMS.

It's very unclear how book sales translate into income for authors. You are rewarding middlemen; these middlemen have a role that may or may not be important these days.

...it's a pile of Vala code. What you probably mean is that the author did not make a package for your distribution, and there is no one else who had the time and inspiration to package it. You can be the maintainer you seek.
