I think the Git problem that needs solution is, ahem, the problem people solve with extra tools when using Git? That is, forges (GitHub, GitLab, Gitea, …). Issues, PR discussions, &c need to be managed with the code (questions like “is

I am aware of the Python library ecosystem. Feel free to compare the examples with Qalculate’s syntax.

Doing units in Python is a pain. No easy RPN/stack mode. No flexibility in parsing. Vector, matrix, and date maths require weird syntax. No good concept of infinite number. Stuff it. I’m just reformulating https://qalculate.

It's the simplest thing you can do, short of LFS. Packages are vanilla; the user is expected to do all configuration in the way intended by upstream. There is no dependency resolution for packages; you typically do a full install of th

Gokapi requires an externally-visible IP. It can be self-hosted, but is hardly local-first. Also, why not nginx and a `~/Public` folder if we have an IP.

You add yet another account you need to manage, and it's very easy for your private information to be visible in screenshots/casts, in a cloud managed by the makers of a screenshot app.

Why not dropbox or whatever place you use to share files normally? a screenshot program does not need a cloud.

Upvotes are worthless, and SO is unnecessary in this flow. Write a blog post or a gist, don't deal with SO mods.

Yes, that's clear. I'm not very familiar with how quicklisp works. I thought that “updates once a month” implies a separate update channel (distribution, ...). Looking at the relevant issue, https://github.com/quic

What kind of mitm? The attacker cannot modify what you get. You leak the list of packages you download, but I don't think https by itself would have helped — host and filesize would be known, and that should be enough.

I don’t know. The problem does look big, but we’ve all recently seen the Neovim community rewrite a similarly-scoped ecosystem in Lua in couple of years. Logseq seems like a rewrite of a large part of Org, and was also doable. Also, tons of
