I've spent the last 5 years being told by people that all of this is "normal". That "all politicians say these things". That "even Obama did X, Y, Z" even when X, Y, Z are completely different. Unfortunate

It's far too early to discuss "precedent" when there's literally no precedent for a lame-duck President inciting an insurrection against the legislature for certifying his loss in this country. I'll get concerned th

Complaining about "cancel culture" with regard to a mob that literally tried to cancel the votes of 81 million people is hilariously missing the point.

"Frightening?" No, what's frightening is the armed insurrection that happened last Wednesday.

I'm struggling to see where I said that. I will, however, state the fact that many of the people who participated in the insurrection on Wednesday, of which a large cross-section believe in QAnon and wore QAnon paraphernalia, have been

For those not aware, Gab is notable for having a bunch of QAnon adherents post regularly.

To be clear, we had another peaceful resolution to this on November 3rd, but unfortunately the President refuses or at best refused to accept this.

One way things got better is they just migrated to pre-existing, externally available AWS services for many applications. Being able to sell them to Amazon teams at internal cost, getting performance and scale benefits and being able to use

Provoking and supporting armed insurrection and occupation of the Capitol as a lame-duck president in order to overturn an election is far, far more dangerous than anything you've just described.

But in the US they bargain on the enterprise level, not by sector. I think that was the implication in the comment. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sectoral_collective_bargaining...

I really don't think they see intern as a low status label, especially if they have an MIT jacket on, for example. I worked at a company with a CEO that did something similar and asked interns to come to his desk to chat, which I did.

As an intern you're already part of a chosen elite (top school or top companies on your resume) so this isn't great evidence imho.

I think the reasoning is perfectly sound for doing this but the performance penalty is too much to bear for most use cases - what's preventing nixpkg/guix from being used fully for this use case? Lack of available packages?

~$500k is what some Amazon L6's and most L7's make. Don't think you can hit that in most Finance positions until VP level, unless you're in Quant finance in hedge funds but then the SWEs make that much too.
