Does all of that have to be implemented every time you want to sort by a new predicate? If so, that seems like quite a lot of boilerplate, no?

What does the implementation of `byName` look like? I'm not sure I understand what its return type would be.

Yes, that's so much worse. At least to my eyes. It's a death by a thousand cuts. That's 3 dense lines that you need every time you map across a collection. Which obscures whatever else is happening in the rest of the method&#

What would "lexicographic" comparison of two arrays mean? As in, what's the canonical string conversion, and how should commas be treated in the ordering? (eg, does `[1,2]` come before or after `[12]` ?) Admittedly, "lex

A, uh, personal eccentricity of mine is to treat dollars like any other unit written after the amount and optionally taking SI prefixes (At least in any writing I can get away with it). It's doubly nice because it plays well with rates

Blame the person who chose to translate "petition principii" so terribly. No one in isolation would interpret the Modern English phrase "begs the question" as meaning "assumes the desired conclusion as a premise&quo

When interviewing at Google, I also skipped the phone interview and went straight onsite because of where my degree was from. Or at least, that's what the recruiter said. Google claims to have a lot of data backing up its hiring deci

I never realized this, but I do this too. I think the mentality comes from using your bank's website/mint/etc to track your spending. Anything done with a card becomes a specific line item staring you in the face; cash, howev

That looks like DNA lounge, which definitely does not have go-go dancers by default. If so, it's pretty likely the Microsoft event organizers specifically requested/hired them.

Am I really that much of an outlier in loving coffeescript? I know a lot of people don't like the extra translation effort to debugging, and some aren't fond of significant whitespace, but I'm surprised that that's enoug

That's definitely not what most people mean when they refer to the "soul". And using "soul" to mean that is both confusing and unhelpful.

I don't think the graded vesting was the surprising thing to the parent comment, it's that it's five years instead of four. All the tech companies I've seen use 1 year cliff/4 year total vesting. Ie, 25% after the f
