That's interesting, because personally I seem to dislike Tabletop Simulator; I feel super slow and constrained by it, as if I was having my hands tied, and much prefer playing the same games live with friends (or solo!) and manipulatin

Do I understand correctly that I still need to run either an extra service outside the browser on my client machine, or some service on a central server I own (the WebRTC-Star thing?) for this to work?

I'm also very interested in chording keyboards, though never tried one yet - but planning to try building a Chordite DIY prototype Some Day. Also thus interested in any AR / video passthrough features (and their speed), esp. from

FWIW, I only ever created an account on Twitter because I thought "maybe I should have one", but never felt compelled to do anything with it in the end. I mean, I sometimes read some Twitter thread that is posted here on HN, but e

Ah, I thought we're talking typewriter-old times. Yes, sure, I do remember the proliferation of weird wiki syntaxes, and I also remember seeing markdown as a breath of fresh air in its readability and intuitiveness. I do believe the sa

Isn't compilation time in a roughly similar ballpark for C++? Which is kinda... "quite often" used in games projects? Not sure how much in hobby ones though, if that's what is being discussed here, but I'm somewhat

Check "scambaiting" generally, or for example "Kitboga" or "Scammer Payback" specifically on YouTube, for some funny-sad look on how many people can become gullible and vulnerable to various deception tactics.

Two thoughts, as a very recent convert from expert-level Go to all-around-the-place-level Rust: (For some context, interested in Rust since 2009, similar as with Go, but not involved at all, whereas contributor to Go pre-1.0.) First thing,

As I read it, the flag changes are to find the source of the slowdown. I.e. if disabling LTO for a moment would improve the compilation speed drastically , then I probably still want it enabled but may now want to see if there are ways t

Yes, and no. In both cases it can be still something of a lottery. In particular, I think you may find good management at small companies too, and I know you can find coasting incompetent managers at huge companies.
